Herr Xoske, the Minister for War, is apparently increasingly under the control of the reactionaries, whose ultimate object is a militarist and possibly a monarchist restoration. It is persistently reported that the Russian Bolsheviks are preparing to invade Germany. « FORMER GENERAL KILLED. murder by peasant mob. Australian and N.& Cable Association. (Seed. 11.30 p.m.) PARIS. Mar. 16. General von Arnim, aged 76 years, recently commanding the German forces in Flanders, has been beaten to death. Von Arnim fired upon peasants, who were trespassing in his park in search of firewood. A mob of peasants invaded the chateau, killed the general with cudgels, and pillaged the chateau. EXECUTIONS WHOLESALE. GOVERNMENT'S TROOPS ACT. A. and N.Z. LONDON. Mar. IS. The Berlin correspondent of the Sunday Express states that German Government troops executed 1500 people in four days, including a number of women. Captain Delarmche, who was entrusted with the executions, says that it will require a week to execute the remaining prisoners.
