I The principal objects of tho loague arc thus stated:— organise all who support a stable Government and policy of sane progress, favouring no ono class of the community; to oppow revolutionary political propaganda, while giving support to tho legitimate rights of labour; to educate public opinion, with respect to the political problems of the day, such as the health and well boing of children, bet'er understanding between employer and f-mpl' ycc, the fallacy of restricted output, the necessity af increased produo* tio.. to meet th i teits un war lo.ais, and pensions, and permit of eased wages, and tho reduction of the cost of. living. league aims to generally promote! The league aims to generally promote! good government, to ensure the general welfare of all classes, to assist in the repatriation of soldiers and their re-absorp-tion into civil life, to select suitable and responsible men for Parliament and other public bodies. The league is independent of, and unpledged to, any of the existing parties, and aims at securing die influence at the polls for a largo body of sane men, of moderate opinion and constructive ability. Mr. C. P. Skerrctt, K. 0., Wellington, was unanimously elected president of the league-, and the constitution was adopted. Prompt steps will be taken to form branches of the league throughout New i Zealand.
