SHIPMENTS TO LONDON.

LONDON, Feb. 14.

The Ministry for Shipping has arranged to lift 624,000 boxes of Australian apples, of which about five-sixths are to be Tasmanian, commencing March or April. Freight will be 7s 7d per box. After numerous conferences of importers, whole salers, and retailers with the apple section of the Food Ministry, the latter decided to recommend the controller to fix the maximum price for Australian cases, containing not less than 401b, at £1 0s lOd, and for those containing not less than 371b at 19s 3d. The maximum retail price for all varieties will remain at 9d per 1b.."
