FOUR RETURNED SOLDIERS. [by telegraph.—pbess association.] CHRISTCHURCH. Tuesday. There was quite an unusual feature about the ordination of six candidates for the Methodist ministry at Durham Street Church to-night, inasmuch as four of them had been on active service! one being: still in khaki, with his arm in a sling. The candidates were* Messrs. Oswald Burnett (Mosgiol), Percy I. Cooko (Birkenhead), Francis T. Harris (Gore), E. Thomas Olds (Christehurch), A. J. L. Minifie (Waimarino). and William G. glade (Invercargill). The first four were returned soldiers. ' The ordination was conducted by the president of the conference, the Rev. H. E. Bellhouse, assisted. bv the Revs. T. A. Joughin, S. E. Lawry, and W. A. Hay. The candidates gave their testimony of faith, those whonad: been on active service stating how, whenthey asked for light, it'' had never failed them. The Rev. ( Mr. Joughin, in his charge, said Hie candidates would exercise .their ministry at A time..when religious unrest was never .more' acute.' „ The..encouraging feature ' about •it was that it fras discontent wiltlr the unchrigUa&'like.asiieot of modern ~ mi '■■ he thought . it) WaVnh' reality and" insincerity that... nauseated. They must give. .those things no' Quarter.,
