BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY.
Most investment stocks had good inquiry yesterday on tho sharemarkefc, though banks were neglected. In insurances New Zea'.ands were looked for at £12 5s 6d, sellers at last call quoting £12 10s. For South British £7 8s 6d was offered, for Nationals 725, and for Standards 475, no sell-jrs quoting. In financial lines Loan and Mercantiles were in demand aft £104, sellers at the noon call quotinc at £115. In coals Hikrrrangis were wanted at 8s 3d, sellers 9s. Northerns (10s paid) had buyers at 7s 6d, sellers 8s 2d. Taupiiis were offered at 19s Bd, buyers 19s, and preference issue at 25s were asked for at 23s 6d. For Westports 31s was offered, sellers 325. In shipping Hnddirt-Parkers had sellors at 425, buyers 41s. P. and 0. (deferred stock) were quoted at £395. with buyers offering £388. In mining Waihis (ex div.) had buyers at 43s 3d, sellers 445. Grand Junctions were held a shade firmer at 13a 6d, buyers 13s. [Talismans were slightly easier, parcels being offered at Ids, buyers 9s 6d. AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE.
