The Egmont Show opened here in perfect weather. Entries exceed last year's by nearly a hundred, the cattle classes filling splendidly, while there is a considerable increase in sheep. Championships wero awarded -as follows Jerseys: Bulls. A. A Ward; heifers, S. Butler. Ay-shires: Bull, Mrs. Hawkes; cow, Olsen Bros. Shorthorns: Bull, MooreHunter Estate; heifers, Moore-Hunter Estate. Sheep-Border Leicesters: Earn, G. V. Pearce; ewe, Tonks Estate. Romney.s: Earn, J. 31air; ewe, Andrew Hunter. Pigs—Berkshire boar: Washer; sow, Stewart and I»ndsperg. Tarn worth boar, Willis. Freisian bull; Castles; cow, Hitchcock.
