MOTOR-DRIVER'S DEATH
BATTERED BODY FOUND. ARREST OF LAST FARE. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 7.35 p.m.) ADELAIDE, Dec. 12. On November 22 last a motor-driver, Harold Jaques, was engaged to drive a man named Budd to Crystal Brook. Jaques's body, with the head battered to a pulp, was found on Saturday buried beneath his own car on the premises at Port Pirie, where Budd lodged. Budd's landlady stated that Budd dug a hole, stating that he intended cleaning the undergear of the motor-car. Subsequently he filled the car, and brought it home, a shed being erected, over it. Budd was arrested on a charge of murdering Jaques. He stated that to bought the car for £300.
