ELABORATE GERMAN WELCOMES TO OCCUPYING TROOPS
PROPITIATING COURTESIES OFFERED TO VICTORS* DESIGN OF HIGH QUARTERS SUSPECTED BENEATH SHOW Renter. (Received 7.55 p.m.) PARIS. Dec. 11. A French correspondent with the British armies states that the inhabitants of Rhenish Prussia everywhere are obsequiously welcoming the allied troops and attempting to conciliate tfie victors by all sorts of civilities. Little boys shout (< Hurrah," and little girls make the most elegant curtsies. Windows are decorated with tri-colour cockades, and the orchestras play French airs. The correspondent is sure that this is all camouflage, ordered by higher quarters.
