SHIPMENT OF WOOL.

EARLY RELIEF EXPECTED, \

THIS SEASON'S VALUATIONS. >

Greater rapidity in the despatch of woo! shipments from the Dominion in the near future, and the consequent easing of the ' overtaxed wool stores, is anticipated by wool brokers as a result of the release of a. largo portion of the allied mercantile fleet, ftjlowing the signing of the armistice.

I Mr. A. W, Perkins, president of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Wool Brokers' Association, stated yesterday that at present there are 24,000 bales of greasy wool and 13,000 bales of scoured and slipe wool in store in Auckland awaiting shipment. Of this 2300 bales would be taken by the Carpentaria, a steamer chartered by the New Zealand Shipping Co., now loading at Auckland for London. Brokers did not anticipate any great difficulty in the handling of thii coming season's clip.

The valuation of the 1918-19 season 1 ! wool will be commenced by brokers this week at Auckland. Duriig the past two seasons it has been the custom for brokers to telegraph the growers immediately the valuation is made. At the present time, owing to telegraphic restrictions arising out of the influenza epidemic, it is .impossible to follow this course and Growers will be advised by mail. They will have the right of appeal within 48 hours of the receipt of notice of valuation. Weekly valuations in Auckland will continue for the next four months. Brokers report from i casual sample of bale sa.mples. that this season's clip is likely to be better than that of last year. It is expected that, owing to the influenza epidemic, wool deJit erics will be delayed to some extent th.B- season. ''■
