MORE FOOLISH RUMOURS. ADVICE TO CONVALESCENTS. The fact that the present epidemic is nothing more than pure influenza was strongly emphasised yesterday bv Dr. J. P. Frengley, acting chief health officer, who deprecated the rumours that the disease was other than it is stated to be. He urged that persons who are suffering from the influenza should remain in their homes or rooms an extri few days at the convalescent period, in order to reduce the risk of spreading the disease. Above all, recovered persons should Bpend as much time as possible in the open-air and sunshine.
