AMERICAN WAR AIMS SECURED BY ARMISTICE.
OPERATION OF DRAFT SYSTEM CEASES AT ONCE. Wxaliaa md N.Z. Cabl. i-cation. WASHINGTON. Nov. 11. The President has issued a formal proclamation stating that by (the armistice everything for which America has fought has been accomplished. It was now her duty to assist by co-operation and by friendly example to aid in the establishment of a just democracy throughout the world. Tho President has announced the armistice terms to CODBreSS - NEW YOEK. Nov. 11. The Washington correspondent of the United Press says that news of the signing of the armistice was telephoned to the President at White House from the State Department before it was announced to the newspaper correspondents. Officials of the various Government departments remained at their desks awaiting the news, which was conveyed to them immediately after Mr. Wilson had been notified. All the draft calls in the United States have been suspended, and no more recruits will go into camp. The despatch of troops overseas has been stopped.
