AMERICAN SHIPYARDS.
CANCELLING A CONTRACT, A. and. N.Z. NEW YORK, Oct. 80. The Washington correspondent of tha United Press states that the United States Shipping Board has announced the cancellation of the contract with the Bethlehem Steel Corporation for the purpose of building a shipbuilding plant at Almada, California. Official explained that tha contract was cancelled because the plant would not be completed before the "jeric 1 of its usefulness expired.
