NORWEGIAN SHIP SUNK.
SUFFERINGS OF THE CREW. ADRIFT IN OPEN BOATS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association, (Reed. 6.40 p.m ) NEW YORK, Oct. 30. The Norwegian barque Stifinder was torpedoed 1500 miles off the American coast. Eight of the crew perished. Ten survivors were adrift for 15 days. Their sufferings were awful, as they were practically without food or water. The vessel was on her way from New York to Fremantle. She was stopped in mid-Atlantic by a submarine, the crew of which sank the ship with bombs. The crew of the Stifinder escaped in boats., One boat-load is still missing, the remainder having been picked .up by an American patrol.
