FEATS OF AUSTRALIANS.

NON-RECOGNITION FEARED 28,655 PRISONERS TAKEN HINDENBURG LINE BROKEN. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Seed. 7.10 p.m.) LONDON. Oct. 15. There is a fueling among the Australian troops in London that the English newspapers and public do not realise fully the part the Australians have taken in recent fighting. It is claimed on their behalf that credit can be taken for the successful offensive policy commencing on August 8, which changed the allied defensive policy into an offensive, paving the way for the great advance which is still in progress. They made the first serious breach in the Hindenburg line, and during the six months fighting from March to October captured 251 square miles of territory, recaptured 116 towns and villages, and many other strong points, took 28,655 prisoners and 332 gifts, and met and defeated equivalent to 73 German divisions, including those reappearing a second time. During these operations the Australians' losses wero much less than the number of prisoners they captured.
