GERMANS REINFORCE RETREATING BULGARIANS.
ALLIES MAKE PROGRESS IN PACE OF RESISTANCE. SERVIANS AT HEAD OF WEDGE DRIVING FORWARD. Australian and N.Z. and Renter. (Reed. 12.20 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 26. A French Eastern communique states: Despite reinforcements of German troops, the enemy has been obliged to continue to retreat northward. Strong rearguards are still desperately resisting. Northeast of Monastir the Allies have advanced beyond Prilep and are making progress towards the Krushevo-Kichevo and Kuprulu Roads. The Servians in the centre carried the Popadija Massif, east of the Babuna Pass, and gained ground west of the Lower Tserna. They also enlarged the bridgehead north of the Vardar, and captured the heights between the Vardar and the Krivolakavitza Valley, where the enemy is hastily entrenching. The right wing of the British, French, and Greek forces has thrown advance guards across the Vardar at Gradetz and Hudovo, and captured the Barabafi Massif north of Lake Doiran. The booty is increasing. Thirty guns were captured on Monday and also railway material.
