. *. . EGMO4IT RACING CLUB. j PROSPECTS FOR TO-DAY. ' [Br. TELEGKAI'H.—OWN* correspondent.] i HAvVEBA, Wednesday. , ■ j The Egmont Racing Club's meeting, which ' opens to-morrow, has drawn Urge fields in all the events, and tho success of the innovation seems assured, so that the club will I doubtless retain tho fixture in place of the i autumn gathering. The opening event is > tho Hunters' Flat, in which the useful Fly- . I ins Camp seems a hotter class than t > I others. Time was when Bollin would have r ! made the field look cheap, but tho o ■ fellow has shown no form for a very long j time. ' For the Tangakoe Hurdles Taraoa is top . weight, and well handled he should bo able ' to concede Mb to Lord Ainslie. The latter ■ is vory useful, and tho contest between i jja.r shouiu ue interesting. Tho Auckland horses Dunrobiu, Tirau, . and Jackoranda would appear to hold a very strong hand in the Hunt Club Cup. • They are more seasoned than any of the > others and will bo Quite at home over tho . distance Kewipoto, the top weight in tho Towhnla Handicap, has not had a race for a lone ! tunc, which will toil against tho black • horso. Hyginas and Glenroy have both i shown good form of late, and tho pair i. appear to bo tho best placed in the race. Flying Camp will most likely be saddled ' up a second tima in tho Bracelet Steopios. > He has been hunted oil tho winter, and is , reported to bo a proficient jumper H started ho is sure to bo a good favourite. Tirau is a better horso over two miles than a longer journey, and King's Park is another horso with a chance. ; It is reported that H. pray will ride , Alteration in the Mcßao Memorial Handicap, for which tho big gelding may go out [ a better favourite than Depredation. AlteraI lion always hnd pace, but ho was not genuine. However, ho has boon gelded recently and sharpened up by tho race he had at Danncvirke, where he appeared to be '■ unlucky not to got a place, no should do i a lot better to-morrow. , In the Wnihi Handicap the lot engaged are not strong, and Rcbur, who ran a milo 1 at Wellington in January under lin 41s. I should be favourite. The presence of Royal , Park in the raco will make Robur pay a better price than would be the case other- ' wi?e. 1 There is a big field in the Telegraph Han- , dienn, of five furlongs, but tho lour, top weights are a grade above the other?. ', Madam Bistori is reported to be very well, and the distance will suit the Taranaki mare. - .
