THEFT OF JEWELLERY.
Charges' of stealing a brooch, valued at £4," and two lockets, valued at 355, the properly., of William ■ Ooltman, were, admitted by Jessie Meeske (Mr. Moody), in the Police Court, before Mr. E.C. Cutten, S.M., - yesterday. ; It was stated ; that accused took the • articles from Mr. ' Coltman's jeweller's shop, 1 while the assistant's attention ] was momentarily ; diverted. . I She subsequently pawned the articles for ?£2 ss. Accused,, who had previously been convicted for . theft,, was' committed ' to.' the Paniell Rescue Home for two years. % fiOa'. the information of the Takapuna Borough I Council, Andrew: Thomas was charged with theft of rock, valued at 12b;, For f the prosecution evidence was given to the -effect that! defendant was seen removing rock from below, high-water mark on 1 the council's property at Takapuna Beach. Defendant said he was employed by a man to build a wall.
