NEW SITE FOR MUSEUM
OBSERVATORY I LI. CHOSEN. SANCTION BY CITY COUNCIL. i The new silo for the Auckland Museum in the Outer Domain, has been selected by the council of tho Auckland Institute. It is an .area measuring 500 ft by 250 ft, embracing the top of Observatory Hill, the most elevated portion of the Domain, and, in accordance with a recent resolution of tho City Council, will bo duly reserved for museum purposes. The institute authorities propose to promote a Bill in Parliament . ing them power to i utilise the site, and it will also be necessary for the City Council to obtain legislative authority to lease or make available the property. The City Council decided last evening that it had no objection to the institute proceeding with a Bill 011 the lines proposed.
