FRENCH AND ITALIANS PURSUE ADVANCE IN ALBANIA.
HIGH GROUND GAINED AND PRISONERS TAKEN. CAPTURES IN MEN AND GUNS ACCUMULATING. Australian and N.Z. and Renter (Reed. 10.56 p.m.) LONDON. July 23. An Italian official report states: In Albania we carried Point 1071, on the crest of Malyhilowes, taking prisoners, The French advancing astride the Devoli participated in the action. We have captured in Albania up to Friday 2167 prisoners, 10 medium guns, 16 field and mountain guns, four trench guns, two trench mortars, 38 machine-guns, six aeroplanes, and much other material. We have also liberated some hundreds of Italian and Russian prisoners.
A French eastern communique states: The enemy at the Tcherna bend, north-east of Monastir, attempted several raids on the Italian positions. All were brilliantly repulsed, and the Bulgarians lost heavily.
