PETITIONS FOR DIVORCE.
TWO DECREES NISI GRANTED. Two petitions for divorce were heard at the Supreme Court yesterday, before Mr. Justice Cooper. In the first case the petitioner, Ellen Tynan (Mr. Prendergast), said she married the respondent, William Tynan, who was present in Court in the custody of a warder, at Auckland on Maroli 16, 1886. Eight children were born to them. Her husband had been addicted to drink since tho day of their marriage. She had not lived with him for eight years, and had received no support from him for over nine years. On September 8, 1914, respondent was sentenced to seven years' imprisonment for the attempted murder of his child Evelyn. A decree nisi was granted, to be made absolute in three months. His Honor said respondent was entitled to be heard later on the question of the custody of three infant children, but in the meantime the petitioner would be given the custody of these children. Florence Mary Butler (Mr. Ostler), petitioned for a divorce from Gordon C. W. Butler, clerk. Respondent did not oppose the petition. Petitioner stated that sho married respondent on Juno 18, 1914, and there were two children of the marriage. Early last year she left her husband and subsequently was granted a separation and maintenance order in tho Magistrate'# Court. , After hearing further evidence His Honor said the facta placed before him were sufficient to justify him in holding that the respondent had been guilty of adultery with a person unknown. A decree nisi would be granted, the petitioner being given the interim custody of the two children.
