TWO BRITISH SUCCESSES. ENEMY GUNS ACTIVE. (Received 1.85 am.) A. and N.Z.-Reuter. LONDON, July 13. Sir Douglas Haig reports English and Australian troops on Friday carried out successful minor enterprises in the neighbourhood of Vieux Berquin and Merris, west of Bailleul. Our casualties in this sector duri n g the past few days have been exceptionally light. We made a raid north of Hamel, and repulsed a raid north of Moteren. Hostile artillery has been active opposite Beaumont Hamel, south of the Somme and in the Strazeele and Locre sectors, in Flanders.
