ORANGE LODGE JUBILEE.
CELEBRATION IN AUCKLAND. Tub jubilee of tho City of Auckland L.O.L. No. 1, was celobrated yesterday afternoon In the Orange Hall, Newton. Brother W. Goulburn, W.M., presided. \ Bro. tho Rev. A. Anstice, in an address, I said tlmt freedom was an essential of Christianity. It had been said that more Protestantism was needed in the Christian I Church, and more religion in the Orange j Lodgos. There was an elemont of truth in this statement. If tho Protestant Churches were true to thoir principles they must protest against evil and remember that the present was not a time to sleep. Let them arouse thomsolves. They felt thai something was wrong with thoir national life. There was too much backstairs influence at work. They wondered what had come to the hundrous of thousands of New Zealand voters when they considered somo of the men in public life.
