A French communique states: South of the Aisne desperate combats, sometimes developing into hand to hand fighting. have occurred between the river and the Yilliers t'otterets Forest. We stoutly resisted the attacks of the enemy, who made slight progress on the plateau west of the villages of Dommiers and C'ntry. His efforts against Amblenv and St. Pierre Aigle failed. North of the Maine we raptured Montecouvc and Bouquedan, on the River Clignon, north of Eloup, and the southern part of Bussiares, south of the river.
