WAIHI GRAND JUNCTION.
The following information has been cabled to the bead office of the W&ihi Grand Junction Gold Company, London:— We are crushing 225 tons per day; the extraction is £1 lis per ton. No. 8 level, Empire footwall lode, west drive: The crosscut at 350 ft has been advanced to 49ft south; the last 4it is country rock. This crosscut has also been extended 84ft to the north. The first 31ft assays 19s 3d per ton, the nest 13Ut is a mixture of quartz and country rock, and the remainder is country rock. Empire lode, cast drive: Breaking out the lode from 390 ft to 442 ft, 10ft above tho level, the average value for a width of (Win .is las per ton. Royal lode: The west drive has been advanced to 2?0»t: from "(Oft to 2Ssft the average value for a width of 63in is 3s 9d'per ton. • WAIHI WARDEN'S COURT. ■• [BY telzgeath.—OWN CORRESPOSDEMT.] WAIHI. Thursday. At the Warden's Court jo-day an application was made by the Waihi Extended Gold Mining Company for twelve months protection, and reduction of rent to la per ..acre. The warden agreed to recommend the application for protection to the Minister for Mines. The other application was adjourned, T,entlin(r consideration of the matter by the Borouffh Council. Applications by Hie Waihl Rrofs Gigantic for suspension of labour conditions and reduction of rent to Is per acre per annum in respect of eight claims, which had been recommended by the warden and approved by the Minister for Mines, were granted. ...,
