Timber merchants arc protesting against the New Zealand National Efficiency Board's recommendation to prohibit the export of timber, particularly white pine, which is required for the boxing of meat, butter, and rabbits for tiie Imperial Government. Owing to the shortage <•! colonial timber, ill® decision will greatly affect local industries. Importers are. petitioning the Minister for Customs to make representations to the New Zealand Government.
