AUCKLAND LAND BOARD.
AREAS TO BE OPENED. The Auckland Land Board met yesterday, the commissioner, Mr. H. M. Skeet, presiding. Nine applications lor the fee simple were granted. Eleven transfers and subleases were recommended for approval to the Minister for Lands, 13 were approved, three were adjourned, and one was refused. Twenty-three forfeitures were made. It was decided to recommend to I the Minister that sections of land in. the Takahue survey district, and at Papakura Ibe set aside as school sites. The applica- | tion of tho Education Board for a section j of land at Whakatane to be set apart as : a school site was also recommended fir approval to the Mini.«t<T The removal of the reservation on Te Mala kauri 'gnu reserve was approved by the board, subject to the Minister's consent. KxiVanditnre of " thirds " was approved a.-" fol-lows:-Albertland North Board, £21 4s 5d : Minister for Lands, under Banffstaiki Land Drainage Act, 1910, £9 12a 6d. Eijrht applications for land were approved, and one was recommended for approval to the Minister. It was decided to open the following land?:—Under Part 111. of the Land Act, 1908: Section 16, Block XVI., Waoku, 2CCi- Section 5, Block VIII., Kawakawa, 332 a lr33p; Section 12. Block V., Alexandra, 113 a2r 27p; Section 16. Block XIV., Urutawa, 1369 a; Section 4, Block XTV., Russell, 409 a; Section 3, Block XII., Waoku, 189 a; Section 227, Paremoremo, 61a. By public auction : Section, 27, Block* Vin., Maketu, 8a 3r 20p; Section 28, Block VIII., Maketu, ?5a 3f; Section 29, Block VIII., Maketu, 18a- If 24p; Section 98, Raniijtaiki J)., 02a 3r 23p; Section 6, Block Xft', Otorohansja, lr 19p.
