GRAMMAR SCHOOLS BOARD.

REELECTION OF CHAIRMAN. The Auckland Grammar Schools Board met yesterday. The chairman, Professor A. P. W. Thomas, presided. The annual election of a chairman of the board resulted in Professor Thomas being re-elected. In the absence of Dr. Roberton, vice-chairman, Mr. G. W. Murray was temporarily appointed to the position. Mr. W. J. Speight, the only nominee for the vacancy on the board, was also elected. The various departmental committees were re-appointed. The report of the General Council of Education was deferred for consideration until the next meeting of the board.
