APPEALS OF RESERVISTS.

CASKS AT TK AROHA. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRE.SPONDE.YT.] TE AROHA, Saturday. The sitting of the Military Service Board was continued yesterday. Perry Laycock, farmer, Tahuna, pleaded undue hardship, and that his was an essential occupation. The appeal was dismissed, but leave was granted until July 19. The appeals ot Edward Jvey, labourer, Paeroa; Robert Semple, farmer, Tatuanui; William Williams, baker, Waihi; James Robinson, miner, Waihi; Bert Greenwood, trainer, Paeroa; Douglas Wright, machinist, Te Aroha, who maintained that they were wrongly classed, were allowed. Albert Hirst, dairy farmer, Elstow, stated that he was conducting his own farm without assistance, and was also managing a farm in the neighbourhood for a widow, whose son was on active service. His case was adjourned sine die. The case of William Wilson, farmer, Taihoa, who is conducting two farms, and whoso appeal was supported by the chairman of the Matamata Farmers' Union Committee, was adjourned sine die. Norman Moon, miner, Waihi. was granted a sine die adjournment, his employers stating that he was an essential man. In tho case of Frederick Paltridge, battery superintendent, Waihi, the board considered that, as ho is a mining expert, the matter should be adjourned sine die. The Hauraki Plains Dairy Company appealed for Harold Baggerley, cheesemaker at the Tunis factory. Baggerley, personally, did not wish to appeal, but placed himself at the service of the dairy company. A sine die adjournment was granted. Tho appeal of Sidney Prisk, butcher, Waihi, who pleaded undue hardship, was dismissed, and Prisk will proceed to camp on June 6. Henry Thorpe, farmer, Paeroa, was appealed for by his mother, who contended that she would not conduct the large farm without him. Another son was at the front. A sine die adjournment was granted. C'has. Scherer, farmer, Waharoa, whose brother left with the Main Body, was granted leave until July 19, to enable him to complete important farm works.
