AIR RAID REACHES EASTERN ENGLISH COUNTIES.
Australian and N.Z. and Renter. (Reed. 5.5 p.ru ) LONDON, April 13.-2 a.m. The Press Bureau announces: Hostile airships crossed the east coast last evening and attacked certain eastern and midland districts. One or two of the raiders penetrated further ialand, where some bombs were dropped. Four airnhips participated in the raid. Two , penetrated a few miles inland, and another reached the midlands. jg| The fourth nearly reached the north-west coast. The raiders travelled > ■ ; at a great height. No attempt was made to penetrate defended areas.- •.. '- Most of the bombs dropped fell in open country." -Four houses were ; -.: demolished in one place. Otherwise the damage was inconsiderable.
