ODDFELLOWS' BENEFITS.
RICK PAY TO SOLDIERS.

WELLINGTON, Thursday. Regarding sick pay to soldiers who are members, the Now Zealand branch of the Manchester Unity, Independent Order of Oddfellows, adopted amended rules, and resolved that the incoming board of dire tors wait on the Milliliter for Defence, and request him to instruct doctors to issue medical certificated to members of friendly societies suffering from sickness or wounds.
The conference decided {'• send a deputation to the Minister in Charge of tho Friendly Societies' Deponent to press the claims of the society to the advantages of the full maternity benefit of £6 enjoyed by contributors to the National Provident Fund.
The election of officers resulted:—G.M., Bro. F. W. Watt, Ashburton; deputy G.M., Bro. W. Thomas, Auckland corresponding secretary, Bro. J. Kershaw, Wellington ; treasurer, Bro. G. E. Godber, Wellington; directors, Bros. T. Aitken (Auckland). D. P. Loasby (Wellington), H. Bull (Hawke's Bay), A. G. Slirimpton (Nelson), F. A. Moore (Taranaki 1 , W. R. Gahagan (North Canterbury).
