SOLDIERS OF TUAKAU.
.o— —. — ROLL OF HONOUR UNVEILED. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TUAKAU. Monday. A noi.i, of honour, on which arc in scribed the names of upwards of 100 men of the Tuakau district who have gone to ' the war, was unveiled in the Tuakau Public Hall this afternoon by Sir James Allen, Minister for Defence. The Minister, who arrived by the Rotorua express, accompanied by Mr, R. F. Bollard, M.P. for Raglan, wns welcomed by the representatives of various local bodies and patriotic organisations, headed by the chairman of the Town Hoard, Mr. I). Fulton. The local cadets provided a guard of honour. There was a large gathering at the hall, where speeches were made by Messrs. Fulton, H. 0. R. Mason, Mayor of Puio-kohe, J. H. Wilcox, a member of the Franklin County Council, Clime—a returned soldier, Bollard, and the Minister. The last-named referred in appreciative terms to the patriotism of the district, as evidenced by tho large number of men who had gone to the front. Afternoon tea was provided by the ladies. The gathering was marked by tho heartiest enthusiasm.. I k
