HERO OF ANTARCTIC.

LIFE LOST AT THE WAR. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 8.10 p.m.) LONDON, Mar. 14. Ernest Wild, a member of Sir Ernest Shackleton's Antarctic expedition, has been killed on a mine-sweeper in the Mediterranean.

Ernest Wild was one of the seven surviving members of the ill-fated Ross Sea party of Sir Ernest Shackleton's Antarctic expedition. The party suffered terrible hardships and lost several of its members.
