': LIST OF MINOR CASES. [ A ntjmbmi of cases wero heard before Mr. P. V. Fraior, S.M., at the Police , Court yesterday. 1 Cole.y C. Reed pleaded guilty to being • drunk and disorderly on the Auckland ( railway station on Thursday night. SubInspector Wohlman stated that accused, who was duo to Icavo for camp, was found lying across tho rails between two carriages. When removed he became violent and abusive. A fine of 10s was ii'posed. Leonard Heard was charged with driving a motor-car along the New North Road at a dangerous speed on Wednesday last. He pleaded guilty to the charge. Sub-Inspector Wohlman slated that defendant drove his car past a stationary street car at a rate of about 30 miles an hour, and knocked down a man who had got of! the car. Defendant denied that he was travelling at 50 miles an hour, and said that after knocking the man down he conveyed him to his home and paid him £5 to cover out-of-pocket expenses. Defendant was fined £1 and 13s costs, and ordered to pay £1 7s 8d witnesses' expenses. Waino I. Rautio, a Russian Finn, pleaded guilty to acting in a disorderly manner while drunk in Queen Street on Thursday. He was convicted and fined £1, in default 72 hours' imprisonment. Joseph Bell, who plcadod guilty to a charge of leaving a cab in the railway station entrance without first having chained the wheel*, was fined 5s and 9s costs. A first offender for drunkenness was dealt with.
