THE LATE MR. J. E. REDMOND.

o> ■ RESOLUTION OF REGRET. The following resolution was passed at a meeting of the St. Patrick's Day Celebration Committee, held last evening:— "That this committee, representative of tho priests and the people of the city and suburban parishes of Auckland, deeply regret the great loss sustained by Ireland and the Irish race throughout the world through the death of John Redmond, whose whole- life has been Riven ungrudgingly to the cause of faith and fatherland-" Tho resolution, which was passed in silence, tho members standing, was moved by Mr. M. J. Sheahan, chairman, seconded by Mr. P. J. Nerheny. and supported by the Very Rev. Chancellor Holbrook. It was decided to send copies to Mr. Redmond's widow, his son and his daughter. A solemn Reauiem Mass for the repose of the soul of the late Mr. John E. Red mond will be held in St. Patrick's Cathedral at nine o'clock this morning, Bishop Clearv will preside in the sanctuary. The Rev. Father Buckley will be celebrant, tho Rev. Father Brentum deacon, the Rev. Father Hunt sub-deacon, and the Rev. Father O'M alley master of ceremonies. A large number of the city and suburban priests will he present in the sanctuary. Tho music incidental to the Mass will ho sung by the St. Cecilia Choir.
