THE MAPOURIKA. The Mapourika is duo from Wellington this morning, and is to berth at '.he Hob son wharf. She is to sail for Wellington direct at noon on Friday. STEAMER STELLA SOLD. The steamer Stella, which has been laid ill) hero for the last few years, has been purchased by the Otago Iron Rolling Mills Company, . which will use her for conveying material to, and irom Dimedin. The vessel will be placed on the Harbour Board lip to-morrow lor. overhaul and necessary alterations. Sho is oxpectcd to carry about 325 tons of cargo at nine or ten knots. Tho Stella was built at Cartsdyke, Scotland, in 18/6, for the New Zealand Government. pome years later she was sold to tho Ley-land-OBnen Timber Company, which haa owned her ever since. She has been used by them as a tug. mostly towing rafts of timber from tht coast to Auckland. Sho 18 296 tons gross, and 158.3 ft long, with' 211 ft beam, and. 12.2 ft depth. Her engines aro 90 h.p. Eighteen years ago shs ran into and sank the barnuonlme Waiteruata between Rangitoto beacon and Tiritiri.
