ULTIMATUM TO RUSSIA CESSION OF BALTIC PROVINCES ENEMY TROOPS IN FINLAND PROGRESS IN PALESTINE ANZACS CAPTURE JERICHO Germany's new peace terms have been announced' by Russia. She demands the; provinces of Courland, Livonia, and Esthonia, the abandonment of Finland and the Ukraine, the disarmament of all warships in Russian waters, and Indemnities. A reply is required within 48 hours. The Germans have advanced SO miles on the whole front without meeting any resistance. It is stated that they will occupy Petrograd until Russia guarantees peace and accords a 30 years' trade treaty. The Baltic fleet is gripped in the ice at Reval and Helsingfors, and it is feared may fall into the hands of the enemy. The authorities are considering attempting to intern the warships in Finnish waters as in a neutral zone, or alternatively destroying them. The Bolsheviks are endeavouring to stimulate the people to offer resistance in guerrilla fashion, declaring that the revolution is menaced. It is officially announced that a revolutionary mobilisation has been ordered. The British advance east and north of Jerusalem is being rapidly continued. The Australian and New Zealand mounted forces occupied Jericho on Thursday. The British forces now control the whole of the southern valley of the Jordan, the Dead Sea, and the rich country east of it. The British troops in Italy have made several raids across the Piave during the past week. The air service has also actively attacked the enemy. The Belgians repulsed a care« fully prepared assault on their lines in Flanders. There is intense and widespread enemy artillery activity on the French front. Sir Douglas Haig reports raids and artillery activity at various points on the line. The air service has been actively engaged bombing billets, railway lines, and aerodromes behind trie German lines in Belgium.
