W.C.T.U. MEETING.

The opening meeting of the session of the Women's Christian Temperance Union was held at the Central Mission Hall on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Thorpe, vice-presi-dent, presiding. A vote of sympathy was passed to Mr. and Mrs, Wesley Spragg in the loss of their son at the front. Arrangements were made to send a consignment of cakes to Fcatheston camp for the Y.M.C.A. Mrs. I'erritt was appointed delegate to the convention at Timaru in March. Mrs. Weston, of Milfonl, gave an address on "Filled Bowls, or a Good Exchange." Mrs. W. J. Thompson sang the solo " Lead, Kindly Light. '
