ENEMY LOSSES AT ASIAGO.
MANY GUNS DESTROYED.
ROME, Feb. 3. The war correspondent of the Giovnale d'ltalia says that Hungarian officers who have been made prisoner admit that the " Austro-Hungarian troops suffered heavy losses in the Asiago fighting. They state that in several divisions the casualties were from 50 to 75 per cent, of the total number of men engaged. The allied artillery has destroyed four 12m guns and four 9Ji"n guns, in addition to numerous heavy guns of smaller calibre and field guns. > There was an extraordinary episode in the battle of Asiago. A large batch of Austrian prisoners were assembled in a " cage " when an Austrian aeroplane swept down and fireda machine-gun on them. The ■ unfortunate prisoners waved their hands and veiled, but without result. The cage was being turned into a shambles when an Italian airman attacked and brought down the Austrian, to the frantic delight of the prisoners.
