NEW VOLUNTARY SCHEME.

GRADED SCALE SUGGESTED. A. and N.Z. LONDON. Nov. 12. The Director of National Economy, Sir R. H. Yapp, speaking at Manchester on Monday, announced a new scale of voluntary rations, graded according to occupation and sex. The scheme proposes Bib of bread a week for men and 51b for women engaged in heavy industrial or agricultural work, 71b and 41b respectively for ordinary manual workers, 4£lb and 3ilb for sedentary workers, and domestics, In addition, all workers will receive 12oz of cereals other than bread, 21b of meat, lOoz of butter or fats, and Boz sugar.
