It is an allegorical plav, tlxo opening scenes being laid in what is sup- "-. posed to bo the Garden of Eden. . The, x story tells of a gipsy waif, who has been' brought, up by a Quaker family,'"She i.'j'. tempted by. riches and worldly pleasures, and marries a millionaire. to the brutality and selfishness of her husband, - she leaves him and goes to the city to live according to her own wishes.' A young humanitarian falls in love with her, and begs her to divorce her husband. Later the husband is killed in an accident, and the woman, who has learned the • secret of real happiness, gives her life to', the assistance ot the needy. QUEEN'S THEATRE. " The Bottle Imp," one of Robert Louis. Stevenson's stories, is shown fit , the Queen's Theatre tins week. The production is remarkable, in that the entire east, with but two exceptions, is composed of Hawaiian natives. WEST END THEATRE. A dramatic story of a spiritual struggle, entitled "The "Martyrdom of Philip - •Strong/' is the attraction at the West. " End Theatre. Robert Corners and Mabel .'.'.
