■ • ' ■ - A meeting of the Auckland University : College Council wag held yesterday afternoon, the chairman, Mr. T, W. Leys, presiding. The apportionment' the national endowment grant of .€836 13s was fixed as followa, _on the recommendation of the Professoml Boards-Workers' Educational Association, £400; University College library, £300; laboratories, £136 13a. In connection with the transference of the university library to the old Grammar School building, the council decided to arrange the library under the Dewey olasaifiction, and to appoint an assietant librarian, whose duties shall include tha constant oversight of, the library. The library will be placed m the main hall of the oid Grammar School, building, which has undergone several modifications for th« purpose- , 0
