OBITUARY.
♦ — MR. G. BROADFOOT.
Mb. George Broadfoot, an old resident of ' Onehunga, died at- his residence, Haslett Street, Onehunga, on Saturday, aged 83. Mr. Broadfoot, who was born in Scotland, came to New Zealand in the ship Shooting Star, in 1859. He was by trade a builder, and erected the first Presbyterian Church at Onehunga. Mr. Broadfoot saw service in the Maori War. Ke leaves a widow and one daughter, Mrs. A. L. White, of Birkenhead. The funeral will take plac? this morning. MB. W. REDGATE. Another resident of Onehunga, Mr. William Redgate, died at his residence, Hill . Street, on Friday last. Mr. R«dgata w.is born in Nottinghamshire in 1836, and had lived in New Zealand for 35 years. He ' was for 14 years the inspector for the Society for tie Prevention of Cruelty to Anima'ls, and was later Government Stock ' and Dairy Inspector. On retiring from the Government service, ha was for 10 years caretaker of Cornwall Park, removing to Onehunga about six years ago. He leaves a wife, nine daughters, and fiva sons.
