BAD WEATHER ON THE FLANDERS FRONT.
ENEMY ADVANCE STOPPED BY BRITISH FIRE. AVIATORS CONTINUE THEIR BOMBING RAIDS. Australian and N.Z. and Router. (Reed 11.20 p.m.) LONDON, Oot. 7. Heavy rain has fallen all day on the Flanders front. An attempted enemy advance south of Reutel was broken by the British fire. The enemy at dusk heavily barraged the greater part of the front between Broodseinde and Holleboke. No infantry actions followed. British aviators continue their bombing raids, despite the weather. ' A report from Sir Douglas Haig states: The weather is showery and colder. Considerable artillery firing continued on the battle-, front all night. We carried out a successful raid south-east of Brood-' seinde, inflicting casualties, and repulsed an attempted raid south of the Ypres-Menin Canal.
