SERIES OF ACCIDENTS.

MAN FOUND UNCONSCIOUS. MOUNT EDEN INCIDENT. A young man, Hugh McLiver, of Essex Road, Mount Eden, was found in an unconscious condition, and suffering from, severe bruises, at the foot of the mountain, near the tram shelter on Saturday forenoon. He had been observed by a resident at about 9 a.m., when he was seen to lie down on the slopo. Apparently he went to sleep and rolled off a ledge, falling sft or 6ft to where a young woman passing soon afterwards found him. McLiver was attended by a medical man, who ordered hiis removal to the hospital. He had recovered consciousness yesterday, and late last night was, reported to be improving. MISHA? AT FOOTBALL. PLAYER'S LEG BROKEN. A member of the Ponsonby Northern Union football team named John S. Jones, had a leg broken while playing in a match in the Domain on Saturday afternoon, between the Railway Club and Ponsonby. The injury was tho result of an accidental kjck on the shin. After first aid had been given, the injurod player was conveyed to the hospital. Ho was reported last night to be progressing favourably. Jones lives at 13, Costley Street, Ponsonby.

STRITOK BY A TRAMOAR.

ELDERLY MAN INJURED. An elderly man, William Bishop, who lives at 84, Sbortland Street, was admitted to the hospital on Saturday, suffering from bruises received through king struck by a tramcar. It is stated that he was crossing Customs Street West, holding up an umbrella, which obscured ■ his view. His injuries were slight.

FALL FROM PLATFORM.

An accident occurred at the works of the Waihi-Paeroa Gold Extraction , Company on Wednesday. It appears that the manager, Mr. Aitken, and a workman, Mr. J. Silich, were standing on a platform near the elevator, when one of the boards being rotten gave- way, with the result that !silich slipped through and fell some 14ft on to an empty iron truck below. He received severe injuries to his chest and shoulder and one rib was broken. TWO MEN SUSTAIN INJURIES. [by TELEGEAPH.—PRESS association.] "WELLINGTON, Saturday. A motor-car containing four men overturned on the Hntt Road owing to a tyre bursting. Two of the occupants, Messrs. Voyle and McLeod, were badly cut, and wero removed to the hospital. The others suffered lesser injuries, and were able to proceed to their homes.
