ALLEGED EXPLOITATION.
MONOPOLY IN ROOFING IRON. [BY telegraph.—SPEClAL CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON. Thursday. A case of alleged exploitation by an importer was mentioned in the House of Representatives to-day by Mr. 0. V. Pearce (Patea), who asked the Prime Minister if he knew that an English firm with a branch at Wellington had lately imported 500 tons of corrugated iron into New Zealand. No other firms could get this commodity, ho said, and the result was that the firm having a monopoly had been able to advance the price to about £100 a ton. .Mr. Massey said he would be very glad to make inquiries into the matter.
