DROVER'S SERIOUS INJURY.

FRACTURE OF BASE OF SKULL. A drover, Mr. William Shaw, who lives at Onewhero, was admitted to the Auckland Hospital last night suffering from fracture of the base of the skull caused through a fall from a horse. Mr. Shaw, who is ill the employ of Messrs. Dalgety and Company, was riding home from the Tuakau sale, when one of the girths of his saddle broke. He was thrown to the ground, and dragged some distance. He is in a very serious condition.
