Dr. Florence Keller was granted a further two months' leave of absence by the Hospital Board last night.
Captain H. M. Goldstein, who has been awarded the Military- Cross, is a son of Rabbi Goldstein, of Auckland, and prior to going on active service practised as a surgeon in the city. Captain Goldstein has been on service with the New Zealand Medical Corps in France practically from the time the first New Zealanders landed there. His resignation as a member of the Hospital Board was tendered by Mr. S. J. Harbutt at a meeting of that body la«t evening. This step has been taken by Mr. Harbutt as a result of the recent alteration whereby members of the board representing Eden County were reduced from two to one. and Manukau County was given an additional representative. Mr. Harbutt said that when the alteration was made he immediately decided to resign in favour of Mr. M. J. Coyle, the other representative from Eden. He intended to offer his services to the electors in Manukau County at the November elections. Mr. Coyle expressed bis appreciation of Mr. Harbutt's action, and wished him success in contesting the seat.
