JURY AGAIN DISAGREES.
ALLEGED THEFT AT HAMILTON.
The criminal sessions of the Supreme Court were continued yesterday, Mr. Justice Stringer presiding. The' Court was occupied with the retrial of John Benjamin Clark (Mr. Singer), an itinerant auctioneer, charged with the theft of £3 at Hamilton, on February 24, from Mabel l* y i° r ki a ? d with Graining a cheque for £5 <2s 9d from same person by means of a false pretence, and with intent to defraud. Similar charges were preferred against accused in respect to a cheque obtained from Thomas Short at Hamilton on the same date. The hearing lasted all day, and after a retirement of four hours the jury again disagreed. The Hon. J A lole, Crown Solicitor, moved for an adjournment of the case until the next criminal session. This was granted.
