MT. ROSKILL ROAD BOARD.
The Mount Roskill Road Board met on Tuesday night, Mr. J. Haslett presiding.
The Town-Planning League drew attention to the fact that quarrying is going on at Three Kings. The matter was referred to the board in committee. The Auckland Harbour Board wrote stating that the board could not accede to the request for a contribution towards the cost of a culvert in Halsey Drive. It was decidod that the foreman undertake the work as soon as possible. The Department of Agriculture notified the board of the appointment of their foreman. Mr. Morilleau, as an inspector under the Noxious Weeds Act. The trnstees of the Auckland Rugby Union wrote drawing attention to the bad state of Rugby Road. It was agreed to attend to the matter as soon as. possible. It was agreed to hold a special meeting to consider the matter of the water supply. The City Council intimated its willingness to bear half the cost of urgent repairs to Upper Selwyn Road and part, of Church Road. The Onehunga Borough Council stated that it was now found that _ the cost of renovating the Seddon Memorial would be £30, and asked the board to contribute £10. It was decided to ask for full particulars. At the request of the Prime Minister the board decided to convene a public meeting in connection with tho commemoration of the declaration of war.
