STEAMER DISABLED.

UNION CO. CARGO CARRIER.

NOW IN TOW FOR AUCKLAND.

News was received in Auckland yesterday that one of the Union Steam Ship Company's cargo steamers had been disabled. It was reported from Cape Maria Van Dieman that the steamer, which left Auckland on Tuesday last, arrived off the cape at 9 a.m., making for Auckland. She was under sail, and reported that her engines had broken down.

Two hours later another of the Union Company's steamers passed the Cape, also bound for Auckland, and she was communicated with, replying that she would take the disabled vessel in tow. The latter was at that time off North Cape.
